research the economic development tools (as outlined in the executive summary)as part of the
overall economic development program for the county and bring back recommendations to the
Board in October 2013. (Commissioner Hiller's request)
Withdraw Item 16A13: Recommendation to acknowledge and allow for 2210 Vanderbilt
Beach Road,LLC to proceed at their own risk in replace existing non-conforming signage on their
property,while seeking a Variance from the existing sign regulations. (Staff's request)
Move Item 16F3 to Item 11C: Recommendation to approve a Change Order#5 to Contract# 10-
5541 with Paradise Advertising and Marketing,Inc.for Tourism Marketing Services to reflect a
requested increase for marketing services for the Office of Business and Economic Development in
the amount of$75,000 and authorize the Chairwoman to execute the Change Order.

Add On Item 16K1: Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chair to execute a
Settlement Agreement and Amendment in the lawsuit entitled Collier County et al v. Florida
Georgia Grove,LLP, et al, filed in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit in and for Collier County,Florida
(Case No. 11-1640-CA)and direct County staff to commence the process of vacating any claimed
public right-of-way or prescriptive easement interest to a portion of Mamie Street. (County
Attorney's request)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve a budget amendment recognizing and appropriating $128,900 of
unbudgeted carryforward in the Museum operating fund to initiate building repairs and provide
enhanced services and facilities for the public.
OBJECTIVE: To provide the citizens of Collier County with an enriched experience at all Collier
County Museums.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Board approved a lawsuit settlement with White Constructors in the amount
of$40,000 on April 23, 2013, agenda item 16K2. The payment was made to White on April 29, 2013
from the Museum's operating fund (Fund 198). This large expense was not anticipated and cannot be
recouped within the Museum's existing operating budget for FY 2013.
The Museum Assistant position at the Marco Island Historical Museum was reclassified to Museum
Manager effective June 1,2013. The additional cost for the reclassification in FY 2013 is $8,000.
This budget amendment also appropriates $40,900 to fund specialized carpentry and needed repairs at the
Collier County Museum, the Naples Depot Museum, the Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch
and the Marco Island Historical Museum.
The remaining$40,000 is being budgeted in reserves.
FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this budget amendment will increase the Museum's Operating Fund
(Fund 198)by $128,900 from $1,829,500 to $1,958,400.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approve a budget amendment
recognizing and appropriating $128,900 of unbudgeted carryforward in the Museum operating fund to
pay for a lawsuit settlement with White Constructors, reclassify the Museum Assistant to Museum
Manager at the Marco Island Historical Museum, fund needed repairs at the main Museum,Naples Depot
Museum, Immokalee Pioneer Museum, Marco Island Historical Museum, and budget $40,000 in the
Museum's reserves.
