EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to grant final approval of the roadway (public) and drainage
improvements, except street lighting, for that portion of Veterans Memorial
Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard, with the roadway
and drainage improvements being maintained by Collier County and authorizing
the release of the maintenance security.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to grant final approval
of the infrastructure improvements associated with that roadway known as Veterans
Memorial Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1. On October 3, 2006,the Engineering Services Department in conjunction with the
Transportation Services Department granted preliminary acceptance of the
roadway and drainage improvements associated with Veterans Memorial
Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard.
2. The roadway and drainage improvements will be maintained by Collier County
through the operations and maintenance budget. This acceptance involves
approximately 4200 linear feet of two lane roadway together with a sidewalk on
the south side of the roadway and includes mowing of the right-of-way. The street
lighting which exists does not meet County standards and is therefore not
included in this acceptance.
3. The required improvements have been constructed in accordance with the
Land Development Code. The Engineering Services Department as well as
Transportation Services have inspected the improvements and are recommending
final acceptance of the improvements.
4. A resolution for final acceptance has been prepared and approved by the County
Attorney's Office. A copy of the document is attached.
FISCAL IMPACT: The roadway and drainage improvements, except street lighting,
will be maintained by Collier County through the operations and maintenance budget. It
is projected to cost$19,912.81 per year to maintain this section of right-of-way.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact
associated with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The County Attorney's Office has reviewed and
approved the Resolution for legal sufficiency. This item requires a majority vote. This
•item is ready for Board consideration and approval. ERP

AUTHORIZING FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN ROADWAY
AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, EXCEPTING STREET
LIGHTING IN A PORTION OF TRACT `P', ACCORDING TO
THE PLAT OF TUSCANY RESERVE RECORDED IN PLAT
BOOK 39, PAGES 88 THROUGH 95,AND THAT RIGHT OF WAY
AS CONVEYED AND RECORDED IN O.R. BOOK 2801, PAGES
3029 THROUGH 3032, AND O.R. BOOK 4829, PAGES 355
THROUGH 357, AND ALSO KNOWN AS VETERANS
MEMORIAL BOULEVARD. THIS ACCEPTANCE IS FROM
LIVINGSTON ROAD, EAST TO STRAND BOULEVARD, THE

WHEREAS, on October 4, 2006, preliminary acceptance was granted for the paving and
drainage improvements within the subject section of roadway;and
WHEREAS, the Developer has constructed and maintained the roadway and drainage
loop
improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications as required by the Land
Development Code(Collier County Ordinance No. 04-41,as amended); and
WHEREAS, the Developer is requesting final acceptance of the roadway and drainage
improvements and release of his maintenance security;and

I WHEREAS, the Engineering Services Department,as well as the Transportation Services
Department, has inspected the roadway and drainage improvements and are recommending
acceptance of said facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: final acceptance is hereby
granted for those roadway and drainage improvements to Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

maintained by Collier County.
