EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to grant final approval of the roadway (public) and drainage improvements, except street lighting, for that portion of Veterans Memorial Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard, with the roadway and drainage improvements being maintained by Collier County and authorizing the release of the maintenance security. OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to grant final approval of the infrastructure improvements associated with that roadway known as Veterans Memorial Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard. CONSIDERATIONS: 1. On October 3, 2006,the Engineering Services Department in conjunction with the Transportation Services Department granted preliminary acceptance of the roadway and drainage improvements associated with Veterans Memorial Boulevard from Livingston Road eastward to Strand Boulevard. 2. The roadway and drainage improvements will be maintained by Collier County through the operations and maintenance budget. This acceptance involves approximately 4200 linear feet of two lane roadway together with a sidewalk on the south side of the roadway and includes mowing of the right-of-way. The street lighting which exists does not meet County standards and is therefore not included in this acceptance. 3. The required improvements have been constructed in accordance with the Land Development Code. The Engineering Services Department as well as Transportation Services have inspected the improvements and are recommending final acceptance of the improvements. 4. A resolution for final acceptance has been prepared and approved by the County Attorney's Office. A copy of the document is attached. FISCAL IMPACT: The roadway and drainage improvements, except street lighting, will be maintained by Collier County through the operations and maintenance budget. It is projected to cost$19,912.81 per year to maintain this section of right-of-way. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The County Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the Resolution for legal sufficiency. This item requires a majority vote.
