Agenda 06/24/2014 Item #10A6/24/2014 10.A. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to appoint member(s) to Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board. OBJECTIVE: To appoint members to fulfill vacant and expiring terms on the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board, as follows: four vacant terms expiring on June 25, 2015; three vacant terms expiring on June 25, 2017; one vacant term and one currently expiring seat, both to serve until June 25, 2018. CONSIDERATIONS: The Hispanic Affairs Advisory Committee is a 9 member committee created by Ordinance No. 91-37, as amended, to identify and evaluate problems unique to the Hispanic community, to review and recommend ways to ensure open communication between minorities and Collier County Government, and to provide periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Teens are 4 years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup. Currently eight seats on this board are vacant, and one remaining member whose term expires on June 25, 2014. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners considers the attached applications, appoints those applicants who qualify to serve on the Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board for specific terms as referenced above, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the appointments.
