EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize FYI4/15 Transportation Disadvantage Planning Grant
funding in the amount of$25,941 to the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization from
the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and to authorize the necessary
budget amendment.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to recognize funding awarded
to the Collier County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) by the Commission for the
Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) and to authorize the necessary budget amendment.
CONSIDERATIONS: Annually,the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) enters
into an Agreement with the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) to perform
planning duties set forth in Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, Rule 41-2, Florida Administrative
Code, Commission policies and the Program Manual for Transportation Disadvantaged Planning
Related Services (Agreement) as revised on April 27, 2012. The CTD notified the MPO that it is
authorizing $25,941 for specific planning task in the MPO's FY14/15 fiscal year (July-June).
The MPO Board is expected to approve the Agreement at their June 13, 2014 meeting. CTD
Grant funding begins July 1, 2014, and does not coincide with the County's budget cycle. A
budget amendment is required to recognize the anticipated grant revenue and establish the
expense appropriation.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the amount
of$25,941 in Growth Management Division (GMD) Grant Fund 711, Project 33339. There is no
requirement for matching funds.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires
majority vote for Board approval.—SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This request is consistent with Collier County's
Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board recognizes and authorizes the necessary budget
amendment to FY14/15 grant revenue totaling $25,941, which will be awarded by the
Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged to the Collier Metropolitan Planning
Organization.
