Agenda 01/28/2014 Item #16E21/28/2014 16.E.2. n EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve additions, deletions, and reclassifications to the 2014 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan made from October 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013. OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners to ratify one reclassification, the deletion of four classifications and the addition of five new /reactivated classification specifications in the 2014 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan. CONSIDERATIONS: Pursuant to Ordinance No.13 -40, the Board of County Commissioners has authorized the County Manager to make additions, modifications and . deletions to the 2014 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan, subject to retroactive ratification by the Board. This occurs three times during the fiscal year - in January, in April and in July. The modifications to -the County's 2014 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan made between October 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013 (Exhibit 1) consist of one reclassification of a classification specification, removing the reference to a specific division; the deletion of four classifications which are no longer in use by the County; and the addition of five new /reactivated classification specifications primarily due to the reorganization of several business units across the County. FISCAL IWACT: This action will have no fiscal impact to the County. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. - CMG RECOMMENDATION: That the Board approve and ratify modifications of classification specifications in the 2014 Fiscal Year Pay and Classification Plan.
