EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to grant final approval of the public roadway and drainage improvements within
the portions of those roadways described in those Quit Claim Deeds recorded in Official Record
OR Book 1099, Page 365 and OR Book 1099, Page 366 of the public records, and acceptance of the
maintenance responsibility for the improvements.
OBJECTIVE: To have the Board of County Commissioners (Board) grant final approval of
the improvements within the portion of roadways described in the Quit Claim Deeds recorded in
OR Book 1099, Page 365 and OR Book 1099, Page 366 and accept the maintenance
responsibility for the public right -of -way improvements within the limits of the deeds.
CONSIDERATIONS:
1) The subject improvements are located within the Riverwood developments on Riverwood
Road and Audubon Road. On February 19, 1965 the plat for Riverwood Unit One was
recorded. On May 14, 1985, the plat for Riverwood East Unit No. 2 was recorded. These
quit claim deeds which were recorded on August 31, 1984, bridge a gap between the
right -of -way of the two subdivision plats and each conveyed a small portion of the
roadways to the County. However, they were not actually part of the plats.
2) The improvements received preliminary acceptance on November 17, 1987.
3) The improvements have been constructed in accordance with the
Land Development Code. The improvements within the adjacent plats have received
preliminary acceptance, and are scheduled to go before the Board for final acceptance as
a separate agenda item at this meeting. Therefore, the applicant is requesting final
acceptance of these improvements as well in order to secure final acceptance of the entire
roadways. The Transportation Engineering Division has inspected the improvements and
is recommending final acceptance of the improvements.
4) A resolution for final acceptance of the improvements has been prepared and approved
by the County Attorney's Office. The improvements will be maintained by the County
upon approval of the attached Resolution.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no initial fiscal impact associated with this recommendation. Open
swale drainage requires periodic inspections and system cleaning on a seven to twelve year basis
at an estimated cost of $5,000.00 per cycle (for the entire Riverwood and Riverwood East
subdivisions). New residential roadway construction or resurfaced roadway has an expected life
of approximately 15 to 20 years before any incremental costs are required for repairs or
replacement.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated
with this Executive Summary.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality, and
requires a majority vote for Board approval. - SAS
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board grant final acceptance of the roadway and drainage
improvements within the portions of roadways described in the Quit Claim Deeds recorded in
OR Book 1099, Page 356 and OR Book 1099, Page 366 and authorizes;
I. The Chairman to execute the attached resolution authorizing final acceptance of the
improvements and County maintenance of the improvements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,
FLORIDA AUTHORIZING FINAL
ACCEPTANCE OF CERTAIN ROADWAY AND
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS IN A PORTION
OF RIVERWOOD ROAD AND AUDUBON ROAD,
DESCRIBED IN THE QUIT CLAIM DEEDS
RECORDED IN OFFICIAL RECORD BOOK
1099, PAGE 365 AND OR BOOK 1099, PAGE 366,
AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE MAINTENANCE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, on August 31, 1984 Riverwood Associates and GMR Corp. of
Naples recorded the subject deeds conveying a portion of Riverwood Road and Audubon
Road to the County as described in OR Book 1099, Page 365 and OR Book 1099, Page
366; and
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1987, the roadway and drainage improvements
within those areas received preliminary acceptance; and
WHEREAS, the Property Owners are requesting final acceptance of the roadway
and drainage improvements within the public rights of way described in the deeds; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Services Division has inspected the roadway and
drainage improvements within the public rights of way and is recommending final
acceptance of said facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that final acceptance is hereby
granted for those roadway and drainage improvements within the areas described in OR
Book 1.099, Page 365 and OR Book 1099, Page 366.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the roadway and drainage
improvements within the road rights -of -way will be maintained by Collier County.
