Dear Commissioners,
At the Emergency Services Task Force meeting held in November,it was decided that it is time
that we seek the opinion of the unincorporated Collier County voters as to whether we should
move forward with fire and EMS consolidation.
At the Greater Naples Fire and Rescue District meeting, held on December 9,2015,the Board of
Fire Commissioners voted in favor of sending a letter to the Collier County Commission
requesting that a straw ballot referendum be placed on the March 2016 Presidential Primary
ballot. A ballot that would ask the voters of unincorporated Collier County if they are in support
of a single combined fire and emergency medical response independent special district in
unincorporated Collier County that is governed by an independent elected body.
We respectfully request your support of this straw ballot to determine the desire of the voters to
move forward with further consolidation of emergency services.
Respectfully,
'a(
