EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize FY15/16 Transportation Disadvantage Planning Grant funding
in the amount of 525,941 to the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization from the Commission
for the Transportation Disadvantaged and to authorize the necessary budget amendment.
OBJECTIVE: For the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to recognize fitnding
awarded to the Collier County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) by the
Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) and to authorize the necessary budget
amendment.
CONSIDERATIONS: Annually, the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
enters into an Agreement with the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) to
perform planning duties set forth in Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, Rule 41 -2, Florida
Administrative Code, Commission policies and the Program Manual for Transportation
Disadvantaged Planning Related Services (Agreement) as revised on April 27, 2012. The CTD
notified the MPO that it is authorizing $25,941 for specific planning task in the MPO's
FY15 /16 fiscal year (July - June). The MPO Board is expected to approve the Agreement at
their June 12, 2015 meeting. CTD Grant funding begins July 1, 2015.
The MPO remains an independent organization. The BCC acts as the custodian for the
account, and the Clerk acts as the finance entity for the MPO. As such, these funds are not
managed or collected by the BCC.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the
amount of $25,941 in Growth Management Department (GMD) Grant Fund 711. Project 33426.
There is no requirement for matching fiords.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and
requires majority vote for Board approval. —SRT
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This request is consistent with Collier
County's Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board recognizes and authorizes the necessary budget
amendment to FYI 5/16 grant revenue totaling $25,941.
