Re: Appointment to Gd,;ad.'s„n-1 Fo.er04;es Authority
Dear Ms. Rodriguez:
The term of John J. Agnelli, a member and vice-chairman of the Educational Facilities
Authority will expire on June 12, 2015, and he has applied for re-appointment. There were no
other applications for appointment. Mr. Agnelli has served the Authority for many years and the
Authority relies heavily on his experience and knowledge. He has a nearly perfect attendance
record at meetings of the Authority, and in those instances where he has not been physically
present, he has attended by phone.
The Educational Facilities Authority furthers the community goal of expanding our
economic base by providing a funding vehicle for eligible post-secondary educational
institutions such as Ave Maria University and Hodges University. Mr. Agnelli brings a unique
perspective to the Authority because he is a member and chairman of the Board of Trustees of
Hodges University. Chap243, Part I, Florida Statutes, the general law that charters a county
educational facilities authority, recognizes the importance of having an authority member who
has such a perspective by requiring that [in providing for the qualifications of members] "one of
such members shall be a trustee, director, officer, employee of an institution for higher
education...in the county.”
The re-appointment of Mr. Agnelli to the Educational Facilities Authority is highly
recommended. If you need further information, please give me a call.
Very truly yours,
Donald A. Pickworth
Executive Director and General Counsel
