RESOLUTION NO. 2018-0 2
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DECLARING A PUBLIC PURPOSE FOR
COLLIER COUNTY EMS DIVISION TO ACCEPT UNSOLICITED
DONATIONS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC PROVIDED IN
APPRECIATION FOR COUNTY EMS SERVICES.
WHEREAS,the Collier County EMS Division occasionally receives unsolicited monetary
donations from members of public provided in appreciation for County EMS Services; and
WHEREAS, Collier County EMS Division recommends that the Board of County
Commissioners authorize the acceptance of these monetary donations,authorize the EMS Division
to deposit the donations into EMS Fund 490 Miscellaneous Revenue, and authorize the EMS
Division to spend the donations in a manner consistent with any valid public purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, finds that
there is a public purpose to authorize Collier County EMS Division to accept these unsolicited
donations and to spend the donations for a valid public purpose.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners,
Collier County, Florida, that:
1. The Board declares that there is a public purpose for the acceptance and use of the
unsolicited monetary donations as described herein.
2. Collier County EMS Division is authorized to accept unsolicited monetary
donations provided in appreciation for EMS Services; funds shall be deposited into EMS Fund 490
Miscellaneous Revenue.
3. Donations that exceed $5,000 are not covered by this Resolution and require
separate Board approval and acknowledgement.

4. Donations will be used for a valid public purpose and not to reward or influence
County employees in providing County EMS Services. County employees shall not directly or
indirectly accept any monetary or other donations and shall continue to act in strict compliance
with the County's Ethics Ordinance.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion,second and majority vote favoring same,
this 9th day of January ,2018.
