Office and all other parties except the BCC Chairman and the Clerk to the Board
5. The Chairman's signature line date has been entered as the date of BCC approval of the JAK
document or the final negotiated contract date whichever is applicable.
6. "Sign here"tabs are placed on the appropriate pages indicating where the Chairman's JAK
signature and initials are required.
7. In most cases(some contracts are an exception),the original document and this routing slip JAK
should be provided to the County Attorney Office at the time the item is input into
MinuteTraq. Some documents are time sensitive and require forwarding to Tallahassee
within a certain time frame or the BCC's actions are nullified. Be aware of your
deadlines!

And please thank Commissioner Solis for us. Once the resolution is signed I think it should be sent to Senator Passidomo
and Representatives Rommel, Donalds and Trujillo. My understanding is that the sign requests,with county approvals
are consolidated into 1 bill late in the session.

I spoke with your lovely wife just now,so she might have already shared with you that we expect this
resolution to be placed on the agenda for the BCC meeting next week on the 14th. Because there is only
one meeting in November due to the Thanksgiving holiday, and the Commissioners discussed it during
the last meeting,we expect the resolution will be on the consent agenda—meaning it will be passed in
one vote together with a large number of other items.
I was calling to let you know that,and to inquire where this resolution should head next. Should we
send it to Senator Passidomo's office? Or should it go straight to FDOT? And of course,we will get a
copy for you as well.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017-21 4
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA,ENDORSING THE DEDICATION OF THE
PORTION OF INTERSTATE 75 FROM MILE MARKER 110 TO THE
BROWARD COUNTY LINE AS THE "SUBMARINE VETERANS
MEMORIAL HIGHWAY."
WHEREAS, the United States Navy Submarine force has protected and defended our
country for over 115 years; and
WHEREAS, the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI) have a national
organization established for the purpose, "To Perpetuate the memory of our shipmates who gave
their lives in the pursuit of their duties while serving their country;"and
WHEREAS,the Naples Base,USSVI,has been active in the Collier County area for the last
five (5) years demonstrating community service in their Kaps for Kids and Scouting recognition
programs; and
WHEREAS,the Naples Base submarine float has been recognized throughout the county in
support of parades, veterans, and patriotic events; and
WHEREAS,the Naples Base, USSVI wishes to petition the State of Florida to dedicate the
portion of Interstate 75 from Mile Marker 110 to the Broward County line as the "Submarine
Veterans Memorial Highway."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that this Board endorses the Naples
Base,USSVI petition for recognition and dedication of the portion of Interstate 75 from Mile Marker
110 to the Broward County line as the "Submarine Veterans Memorial Highway."
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after motion,second,and majority vote favoring same this
