EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to reappoint one member to the Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint one member to the Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board, to a three -
year term expiring on October 1, 2020.
CONSIDERATIONS: This committee is vested with the power, authority, and jurisdiction to designate,
regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in Collier County, under the direct
jurisdiction and control of the Board of County Commissioners. Membership is composed of 7 members
from the following categories: a. history; b. archaeology; c. Real Estate, land development, or finance; d.
architecture; e. law or urban planning; and f. 2 citizens at large. Terms are 3 years. A list of the current
membership is included in the backup.
Two seats on this committee expired on October 1, 2017. The vacancies were advertised and applications
were received from the following:

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its October 2017 meeting, the committee voted to
recommend that Ms. Arsenault be reappointed to the committee in the Archaeology category, to three -
year term expiring on October 1, 2020. A recommendation memo is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee
Recommendation, and directs the County Attorney to prepare a resolution confirming the reappointment.

I have received your September 1, 2017 e-mail concerning the Historical and Archaeological
Preservation Board’s (HAPB) advertised vacancy which included the application and resume from
Eileen Burden Arsenault for reappointment to the HAPB.
Please be advised that during the October 18, 2017 meeting, the Preservation Board voted to forward a
recommendation to the BCC to appoint Eileen Arsenault to fill the Archaeology category vacancy.
