Berry, Chairman Collier County Board of County Commissioners Collier County Courthouse 3301 Tamiami Trail East Bldg. F. 3'Floor Naples. Florida 34112 Re: Environmental Advisory Committee Dear Commissioner Berry: I read with interest the Commission's proposal for restructuring the Collier County Environmental Advisory Committee. I am a native of Florida having spent my first 54 years in Palm Beach County and my last 18 months as a resident of Collier County. I moved to Naples in July of 1997 to assume the position of President and General Manager of the Grey Oaks Country Club. While a resident of Palm Beach County. I served as a member of the School Board for 8 years and in 1989 was appointed to the State of Florida.Environmental Regulations Commission by the Governor. I served as Chairman of this Commission from 1990 thru 1992. The Environmental Regulations Commission is the body that establishes all environmental rules and regulations for the Department of Environmental Protection and for the five Water Management Districts. It is the experience on this commission and my 25 years of working with local. state and federal agencies and environmental organizations on land development matters that has given me a thorough understanding of the regulatory programs that affect our environment. I am also a member of the Urban Land Institute. American Land Planning Association. Isaac Walton League and the National Audubon Society. I believe this is a balance of interest that few individuals posses. I have great interest in serving the County as a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee and request the Comission's consideration toward an appointment to this committee. I have included a resume of my education and experience for your review. Very truly yours. Grey Oaks Development Corporation Thomas W.
