EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation that the Collier County Board of County Commissioners (BCC), as the
Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), approve an amendment to the previously approved
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant agreement between the BCC
and the CRA for additional funding in the amount of $125,000 and a time extension for the
Immokalee Sidewalk Improvement Program, authorize the Chairman of the Board to sign the
amendment and authorize necessary budget amendments.
OBJECTIVE: To receive CRA Board approval of the attached modification to the previously approved
HUD grant agreement between the BCC and the CRA.
CONSIDERATIONS: On October 11, 2016, BCC agenda item 16(B)(1), the BCC approved the award
of a HUD grant to the CRA administered by the Collier County Community and Human Services (CHS)
Division in the amount of $475,000 for further implementation of the Immokalee Sidewalk Improvement
Program.
The attached Exhibit entitled “CRA Amendment #1 Immokalee Sidewalk” identifies the revisions to the
original agreement in strike-though/underline format. There are two important modifications as follows:
1. Acceptance of $125,000 Grant Awarded - These CDBG 2017-2018 funds will be added to the
Immokalee CRA’s existing 2016-2017 Sidewalk project for which there is an existing
Subrecipient Agreement.
2. Project Work Plan - The deadline is extended to allow for more time to complete the project.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is necessary to recognize grant funds in the amount of
$125,000 within the CRA Grant Fund 715, Project 33493.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote
for Board action. - JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This grant opportunity furthers the programs and projects
within budgetary and policy guidance for the CRA and BCC of Policy 4.2 of the Future Land Use
Element of the Growth Management Plan.
