I. Introduction:
The meeting was called to order by the chairman, Mr. Jack
McKenna, at 12 : 00 . Mr. McKenna welcomed the two new members,
Mr. James Cavanagh and Mr. John Hickey, as well as the
prospective new members in attendance, Mr. Bill Neal and Mr.
John Stockton.
A discussion of the history of the Productivity Committee and the
background on current assignments was undertaken for the benefit
of the new members.
In accordance with the BCC' s desire to receive regular reports on
the Productivity Committee' s progress, an update on the work
currently underway will be presented to the BCC at the 10/31/95
workshop. The workshop will take place at the Golden Gate
Community Center with the Productivity Committee scheduled for
9 : 00 a.m. .
II. Subcommittee Reports:
A. ) Human Resources Subcommittee:
The Human Resources Subcommittee reported that they have
conducted several interviews with management and staff and that
good progress is being made.
B. ) Budget Subcommittee:
Mr. Fink reported that after some preliminary examination, he
has started development of the final work plan. He noted that
the Budget Subcommittee has several vacancies and suggested that
a few additional members may be needed. Mr. Hickey offered to be
on the Budget Subcommittee and was subsequently assigned.
C. ) S.E.A. (Service, Efforts, and Accomplishments)
Subcommittee:
Mr. Fink reported that this study is still in the early stages
and he expects to be able to provide a preliminary report in the
1st . quarter of 1996 . Mr. Cavanagh expressed interest in serving
on this subcommittee and was subsequently assigned.
III. Productivity Committee Vacancies:
Mr. Dauray reported that the Nominating Committee had reviewed
the four applicants and at this time wanted to recommend Mr. John
Stockton and Mr. Bill Neal for appointment to two of the four
vacant seats on the Productivity Committee. Mr. Dauray so moved,
seconded by Mr. Tatak, and approved unanimously.
The committees recommendation to appoint Mr. Stockton and Mr.
Neal will be forwarded to the BCC and will likely appear on
the 11/7/95 agenda.
Meetings:
The next Productivity Committee event will be the BCC workshop on
10/31/95 at 9 : 00 a.m. . The meeting will be held at the Golden
Gate Community Center.
The next regular committee meeting will be Tuesday 11/21/95 at
12 : 00 in the County Managers Conference Room.
Subcommittee meetings will be scheduled as required by
Subcommittee Chairman.
