Agenda 07/11/2017 Item #16C 407/11/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve and execute the document necessary to convey an easement to Florida Power & Light Company (FP&L) over property owned by the Collier County Water Sewer District at 343 St. Andrews Boulevard. OBJECTIVE: To bring utility infrastructure into compliance with current County standards while meeting demand, improving reliability, protecting public safety and providing environmental protection. CONSIDERATIONS: The existing wastewater sub-master pump station 300.06 is located on the median of Saint Andrews Boulevard. The Public Utilities Engineering and Project Management Division is relocating this pump station to a vacant lot near the current location. The vacant lot was purchased by the Collier County Water Sewer District for relocation of this pump station, pursuant to Board of County Commissioners’ action July 24, 2012, Agenda Item 16.C.7. The project includes the installation of a new electric line and transformer to provide power to the pump station. An ea sement to FP&L for the installation of electric lines and fiber, including conduit, poles, and a transformer box, is required. The easement area measures approximately 114 square feet, as shown and described on Exhibit “A” to the Easement. The County will not be compensated because the Easement is a requirement for FP&L to provide the facilities necessary for the operation of the pump station. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for recording the Easement will not exceed $18.50. Funds in the amount of $18.50 are available in the Wastewater Capital Improvement Fund (414), under Project No. 70046.4.4.4. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote for approval. - JAB GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None RECOMMENDATION: To approve the Easement, authorize the Chairman to execute the Easement, and direct the County Manager or his designer to proceed to follow all appropriate closing procedures and record the Easement in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
