Discussion on "transfer of Responsibility for Landscape Maintenance 0 Radio Road East to Road Maintenance." Mr. Johnson arrived at 10:12 and a quorum of five was achieved. Road Maintenance is scheduled to assume maintenance of all the medians effective October 1, 2017 Travis Gossard, Director of Road Maintenance introduced his staff and their responsibilities, and made a presentation of Road Maintenance's landscape maintenance capabilities. Short term, they have suffered from a shortage of staff and a historical low level of maintenance of the irrigation system. They have added a landscape inspector, and two senior field irrigation supervisors. They also have asked for and received budget to add people permanently, to replace outdated irrigation equipment on a regular basis, and to do regular plant replacement. Specific items addressed: • Irrigation specialist on Motorola coming from California to do evaluation of all Motorola systems for 1 week. • Decision has been made to keep and upgrade the Motorola system • New controllers will replace outdated equipment. • Commercial Landscape Maintenance contract will be continued until it runs out. • A new BMP (Best Maintenance Practices)will be utilized to maintain all County Roads • County Landscape Contract will be recombined to help eliminate finger pointing. • Asking for a plant replacement budget of 10%per year. • To report issues in landscape, call 239-252-8924 24/7. Travis also intends to maintain the current landscape and not make any changes unless necessary to the RR East MSTU Medians. He also wants to have regular feedback from the Advisory Board in whatever form they assume after October 1. There was ample questions and answers concerning the turnover of responsibility. Main concerns of the Advisory Committee are the Motorola system (irrigation),plant replacement when necessary, not changing the design and maintaining it with enough staff support to have eyes on the project often. VI. Old Business The committee held a general discussion on having input into the quality of maintenance once the responsibility was transferred to Road Maintenance. The opinion of the committee was that they would establish an unofficial committee to advise Road Maintenance. Generally, the Committee felt comfortable with the Road Maintenance Presentation, and felt that things were on the right course to achieve a satisfactory turnover. VII. New Business None VIII. Committee Comments Discussion as to form an unofficial advisory committee. This item will be on the next regular agenda. IX. Public Comments None There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned by the Chair at 12:00 AM RADIO ROAD EAST MSTU ADVISORY COMMITTEE Dale Johnson, Chairman The Minutes were approved by the Committee on , 2017 As presented , or as amended 2 NEXT MEETING: JULY 12,2017-10:00 AM SANCTUARY CLUB HOUSE, 7906 HAVEN DRIVE NAPLES,FL 34112 3 w o w m a<' ° s m r.' 3 1.-' 0 3 w n' 30- '1"11-' Gl -0 n v S ,0r s na C C v N -1 3 -i W 0 -1 Q - ro cD m m D Z 0 , ' S 0 rt .z O S O S m S 0' Q 0- Z @ CM N r O 0. ' 0 fD fD N "0 ro ro 0) 00 000 'r. ro po m Z Z-I m tib o Q 3 00 D ro G rz o D a v N v ro p * D z Z > (^)i '* ' -. rt S N n _I .-.r — 0 rt v 0 !D r Z D -1 C o r°D N 0- o Q 0- , O v - fD -0 o v st O D > (D N' N n 0- (D rt C N `< N N rD O• Dnj n 01 Ln H n .Z7 rD N -• " O n'• X O 3 N L7 'a 0 0 N — 0- el' M al rn D v, N O 7.', 0 3 Q FE, Cu n rn rt ° rNi -0 O' rrDj P Z VI O O as c N - n n m rp `^ c` °- 00 0 O Po ° 2 co < m o 0 5 O o Q ° - a c < n O p . n rt g s -0 m 0, 0 N o o- U' 3 H D O0 rD 0- oA vN, ro .'-F (0 0- " O rn < v 0 N CI, l0 (0 0 -0 00 0 0 d K: N N n O Q 0D.
