EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to authorize a $180,000 budget amendment to fund the improvement of
wastewater pump station 312.35 located on White Lakes Boulevard and obtain the required county
permits for the construction of Project No. 70184.
OBJECTIVE: Reallocate wastewater projects funding to align with critical priorities needed to maintain
reliability, meet demand and, remain in compliance.
CONSIDERATIONS: The proposed scope of work for “Pump Station 312.35 Improvement” is
included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) contained in the 2014 Water, Wastewater, Irrigation
Quality Water, and Bulk Potable Water Master Plan/CIP Plan.
Pump Station 312.35 Improvements scope includes: survey layout, new piping, valves, fittings, and
appurtenances; raising the existing grade; removal and replacement of the wet well top slab associated
with installing a new concrete wet well riser section; removing, raising, and replacing the existing
electrical control panel, ancillary equipment, and telemetry antenna; adding an asphalt driveway;
replacing the wet well lining; repairing leaks in the wet well; replacing pump power cables; installation of
pipe support braces, pipe supports, pipe clamps, and new wet well vent pipe assembly; protection of all
existing utilities, and all restoration work.
Funding will be used for the improvements to the station located on White Lakes Boulevard, and to
obtain county permits required for the construction of the project:
PS312.35 Construction (RFQ 14-6213-98) 175,550.00$
County Permit Fees 4,450.00$
Total Funds Estimated 180,000.00$
Request for Quotation 14-6213-98 was received under the Fixed-Term Underground Utilities Contract
14-6213 for “Pump Station 312.35 Improvement.” A work order will be issued to Haskins Inc., for
$175,550. The remaining funds will cover the required permit fees.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is needed to move $180,000 from Project No. 70044 (Force
Main Improvement), to Project No. 70184 (Pump Station 312.35 Improvement). Staff analyzed current
and future needs to be funded from the cited projects to assure that the budget amendment will not affect
current and future financial commitments. The source of funding is the Wastewater User Fee Fund (414).
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This project meets current Growth Management Plan
standards to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable public facilities.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority
vote for Board approval. -SRT
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize a $180,000 budget amendment to fund the rehabilitation of
wastewater pump station 312.35 and the required permit fees.
