EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to repeal Resolution No. 2017-83, which implemented immediate limitations on
outdoor burning due to extreme drought conditions, thereby ending the “Burn Ban” in accordance
with Ordinance No. 2009-23, as amended.
OBJECTIVE: To end the current outdoor burn ban as drought conditions have eased.

immediate ban of outdoor burning and outdoor ignition sources during extreme drought conditions.
Ordinance No. 2009-23, as subsequently amended, is codified in Section 58-1 of the Code of Laws and
Ordinances.
On April 25, 2017, and in response to current wildfire conditions and local evacuations, the Board ratified
Proclamation/Resolution 2017-82, declaring a State of Emergency and approved Resolution No. 2017-83
