Agenda 05/23/2017 Item #16B 105/23/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation that the Collier County Community Redevelopment Agency Board(CRAB) approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Commercial Building Improvement Grant Agreement between the Community Redevelopment Agency and Leightons Garage, LLC in the amount of $3,215 plus half permit fees for property located at 2320 Linwood Avenue, within the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area. OBJECTIVE: To revitalize existing commercial facilities through a building improvement grant program established by the Bayshore Gateway Triangle CRA. CONSIDERATIONS: The Commercial Building Improvement Grant Program (C -BIG) is a redevelopment initiative funded and administered by the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Area (BGTCRA). The program provides partial reimbursement for exterior and interior improvements to commercial buildings within the redevelopment area. A C-BIG application was submitted by Leightons Garage, LLC seeking a 50/50 reimbursement grant to improve t he exterior of commercial property located at 2320 Linwood Avenue. The applicant obtained two estimates for the exterior improvements. The lowest estimate is $6,430. Accordingly the grant is established at 50% of $6,430 or $3,215 plus one -half of permit fees (approximately $600). With a unanimous vote of 8 -0, the BGTCRA Advisory Board recommended approved the application at the April 4, 2017 regular meeting. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote for approval. FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient Building Improvement Grant Program budget is provided in Bayshore CRA Fund (187) to support the proposed grant, including permit fees, of $3,815. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: The improvements approved through the C -BIG program will further the goals, objectives and policies outlined in the Future Land Use Element for the Bayshore Gateway Triangle Redevelopment Overlay. RECOMMENDATION: That the CRA Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a C - BIG Agreement between the CRA and Leightons Garage, LLC, in the amount of $3,215 plus half permit fees (approximately $600) for property located at 2320 Linwood Avenue and within the BGTCRA.
