EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to appoint a member to the Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To appoint a member to the Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee, to fill
the remainder of a vacant term expiring on March 3, 2020.
CONSIDERATIONS: This 7 member committee was created on December 16, 1997, by Ordinance No.
97-82 to assist the BCC in carrying out the purposes of providing curbing, watering facilities, plantings
and maintenance of the median strips of roadways within the MSTU; providing traffic calming
improvements; and beautification and maintenance of other areas within the MSTU. The committee
prepares and recommends an itemized budget to the Board of County Commissioners. Members must be
permanent residents or owners of commercial or residential property within the MSTU. Terms are 4
years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one current vacancy on this committee. The vacancy was advertised and an application was

RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee

The Bayshore Beautification MSTU Committee met on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 to review
Ms. DiMarco's member application. After a brief discussion with Ms. DiMarco, the committee
voted unanimously (5-0) to recommend her as a new member to the committee.
Section VI of Ordinance 97-82, Sub -section b outlines the qualifications to be a committee
member as:"... said members shall be permanent residents within the MSTU and electors of
Collier County..." Ms. DiMarco lives within the MSTU district and is a full-time resident of the
county.
