P'>'cussion occurred with Commissioner Fiala expressing concern on reducing requirements or parking and sidewalks in developments for safety concerns and ensuring ample parking is available so individuals are not parking in inappropriate areas or on the grass. Commissioner Fiala amended the motion to place the item in the yes column subject to removing the language (reduced parking, sidewalks, etc.). Second by Commissioner Saunders. Motion carried 4 "yes"-1 "no." Commissioner Solis voted "no." 3 February 24, 2017 Discussion occurred with Commissioners noting the recommendations are in the information gathering stages and it may not be beneficial in this case to eliminate the concept of reducing parking, sidewalks, etc. A final determination on the item may be made at the time all options in regards to the recommendation have been vetted by the BCC. Speakers 4 February 24, 2017 Tim Nance noted the Golden Gate area protects stormwater resources, County wellfields and provides an environmental buffer between urban uses and conservation lands. Many residents in the area prefer lower density development and spoke in opposition to allowing the rental of guest homes. Mark Teaters spoke in opposition to allowing the rental of guest homes. Antonio Dumornay noted it is extremely difficult for the average working person to find housing in the County and hopes the issue may be addressed to benefit the younger individuals in„, - County. Increase Government Employee Wages Staff noted the BCC reviews County wages on an annual basis during preparation of the budget.
