Agenda 02/28/2017 Item #16C 102/28/2017 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to adopt a Resolution memorializing a previously approved Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Utility Work Agreement and to authorize the Chairman or her designee to execute the Resolution. OBJECTIVE: To satisfy the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) requirement of a Resolution memorializing approval of the Utility Work Agreement by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) and its direction authorizing the Chairman to sign the Agreement. CONSIDERATIONS: At the January 24, 2017, meeting, the Board, Ex-officio the Governing Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District, approved a Utility Work Agreement with FDOT that provided a formal mechanism for FDOT to reimburse the Collier County Water -Sewer District for costs that will be incurred to relocate water mains along portions of Trail Boulevard, as necessary to facilitate drainage improvements associated with FDOT’s sidewalk project along the east side of Tamiami Trail North (U.S. 41), from north of Pine Ridge Road to south of Pelican Bay Boulevard North. FDOT requested the Board’s decision be memorialized by Resolution and proceed per the agreed schedule with the understanding that an adopted Resolution is forthcoming. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this Resolution will facilitate the previously approved Utility Work Agreement, which provided a means for the Collier County Water-Sewer District to recover reimbursable costs totaling approximately $215,035 from FDOT. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for Board approval.-SRT GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated with this Executive Summary. RECOMMENDATION: To adopt a Resolution memorializing a previously approved FDOT Utility Work Agreement and to authorize the Chairman or her designee to execute the Resolution.
