MAINTENANCE REPORT
To: Forest Lakes MSTU Committee
cc: Dan Schumacher, Collier County Public Transit& Neighborhood
Enhancement Division
From: Scott Windham
Date: January 31, 2017
RE: Forest Lakes— Monthly Maintenance Report
The following is a brief maintenance status report for the Forest Lakes Common Areas:
DIRECTORY SIGN AREA:
• GENERAL: Continue to monitor Orange Geiger Trees which have been
sprayed for Geiger beetle and are defoliated.
CIRCLE MEDIAN:
• Recommend remove two (2) dead Cassia trees.
ENTRY EAST ROW:
• No action required.
ENTRY WEST ROW:
• No action required.
MAIN ENTRY ISLAND:
• Ground Zero has treated the St Augustine lawn for weeds with Atrazine and
the lawn is improving. They will monitor and in the spring, patch the bare
areas with sod. They will then keep up with weeds throughout year.
FOREST LAKES BLVD:
• Light pole#113-(1) Yellow Elder was removed by an adjacent home owner
due to trunk snapping off at grade during a storm event. Ground Zero
replaced it with a Crepe Myrtle per the MSTU committee's request. The tree
has thin trunks and needs additional reinforcement for the third trunk. (TREE
STILL NEEDS ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT ON THE THIRD TRUNK)
• Light pole#148— Pink Tabebuia largely defoliated. Monitor health closely.
• Light pole#93— Mahogany- Trim dead, low limbs above sidewalk for vertical
clearance.
• Light pole#167—Trim Shady Lady limbs to 10' clear above sidewalk.
WOODSHIRE LANE:
• Light poles#26-28 - Laurel Oak is unhealthy with limited foliage and heavy
Spanish Moss and a second Laurel Oak with an enormous historic scar on
the trunk with no outer bark which is also in ill health. We recommend having
the trees evaluated for potential removal by a certified arborist. (FIRST TREE
STILL IN JEOPARDY)
• Light pole#19, 26-28—Clear Brazilian Pepper from sidewalk area that is
growing over the fence from Naples Bath and Tennis.
