EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the County Manager or his designee to execute an after
the fact Change Order No. 1 to CB&I Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. (CB&I), Marco Island
Beach Renourishment under Contract No. 15-6382, to add an additional 66 days to complete the
final report for the project.
OBJECTIVE: To provide additional time for completion for the Marco Island Beach Renourishment.
CONSIDERATIONS: The 2016 beach renourishment construction project for the Marco Island Beach
Renourishment was not completed until November 11, 2016. The completion date for Work Order
4500163510 was November 8, 2016. Due to a change in means and methods that resulted in reduced cost
to Collier County, work and mobilization did not begin as expected and work was not completed until
November 11,2016.
A final report will be completed by January 13, 2017. This will require an additional 66 days to be added
to the original Work Order, extending the date to January 13, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this Executive Summary.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management impact associated with this
Executive Summary.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS: The original Work Order was approved by the
Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) on September 10, 2015; the Tourist Development Council (TDC) on
September 28,2016 and the Board of County Commissioners (Board)on October 13,2016.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to
form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAI(

Dear Gary:
CB&I Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. would like to request a modification to PO #45-163510 as a
result of the timing of the renourishment event. It was anticipated that the Marco Island Beach Toi
Renourishment would be completed by 11/8/2016. Due to a change in means and methods that resulted
in reduced cost to Collier County, work and mobilization did not begin as expected and work was not
completed until 11/11/16. A final report will be written and completed by January 13, 2017. Please allow o`
for an additional 66 days and revise the completion date to January 13, 2017. This will be a zero dollar
change order.
