Dear Sheriff Rambosk:
u_
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Drug Free Collier,I wish to express our sincere appreciation L
for the strong support we receive from the Collier County Sheriff's Office and respectfully request
your continued commitment. As a leading partner of our coalition, you understand the importance
of protecting our children from substance abuse. We truly thank you for investing valuable
resources to ensure the wellbeing of our local youth.
Each year, the Collier County Sheriffs Office provides critical financial resources to support local v
solutions. By awarding Drug Free Collier$20,000 from your agency's Confiscated Trust Fund, you m
are ensuring that prevention remains a priority in Collier County. Last year, with your support we u,
gathered local stakeholders to address a growing concern surrounding opiate addiction. By shying
at the forefront of this national epidemic,we are in a better position to implement local strategies
to protect our children and our community. Our two-day forum on Prescription Painkillers wit i Dr. cn
Andrew Kolodny reached more than 70 physicians and 115 concerned citizens. The response has s
been extremely positive and continues to generate interest. N
in addition, Drug Free Collier recently implemented a strong Social Norming Campaign designed to as
change local perceptions about teen drug use. Our multiple PSA's aired more than 400 times I n
local television and radio stations, reaching thousands of youth and parents in Collier County with d
prevention messages on underage drinking, prescription pills and marijuana.Without your suwort,
none of this could have happened.Your investment is clearly making a real difference in our c
community. a,

We are eager to continue the important work we began with your help and are particularly exited '
about our new partnership with retired NFL Player Ike Alama-Francis. Ike's appeal and enthusiasm
a
will help take our student-led CORE Clubs to the next level. We are also seeing a renewed interest
in other initiatives such as Hidden in Plain Sight,Operation Medicine Cabinet°,and Alcohol Vendor
Training. Once again,we thank you for making Collier County a safe place for our youth and we look
F"-
forward to our continued partnership with you and members of the Collier County Sheriffs Oflce.
