Collier County Business of the Month Nomination Form Each month, The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Collier County Commissioners recognize an organization that has enhanced the community through financial, volunteer and active involvement in organizations and programs that assist in creating a better quality of life for all citizens in Collier County. The honoree is presented with a commemorative plaque at the Board of County Commissioners meeting. A photo and news release is distributed to all Southwest Florida media and Chamber members, as well as featured in Chamber ConnectTM, the Chamber's website, and promoted through social media. (500 words or less): Lake Michigan Credit Union of Florida actively participates in many community events and initiatives that benefit local southwest Florida communities. Following the 2015 opening of its first full-service retail branch and mortgage center in Bonita Springs, a second branch opened in Naples in July 2016, with a third Naples location scheduled to open early 2017. LMCU-Florida is only the second credit union serving all of Collier County, and is active within these business-centric organizations: • Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce • The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce • Bonita and Estero Area Realtors (BEAR) • Naples Area Board of Realtors (NABOR) • Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA) • Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association As well, LMCU Mortgage Sales Manager Jayne Malinowski has been elected as an officer to the Mortgage Bankers Association of Southwest Florida. Mortgage Loan Officer Linda Culotta personally volunteers with Stockings 4 Kids, a nonprofit organization providing holiday gifts to over 4,000 local children. LMCU Initiatives: • Band Together Raised funds for the ALS Foundation of SWFL, donated through Lee Memorial Hospital. • One Pencil campaign Delivered classroom supplies to elementary teachers in Collier & Lee County schools. • Annual Lloyd F. Hutt Scholarship Essay Competition $2,000 scholarships to college-bound high school seniors. LMCU volunteering: • Staffers lend their time and talents to Humane Society and Assisted Living facilities Local participation: • Supporting the 25th Anniversary of the Immokalee Foundation, helping to build and improve futures for the youth of Immokalee. • Partnership with the Naples Zoo for their First Saturday Collier Free Day in December 2016. • Working with Nova Southeastern University's Fort Myers campus to educate students on debt management and financial services.
