Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jaskiewicz at 3:00 p.m.
Jerry Sanford led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call conducted. The minutes of the January 20`h meeting and the
special meeting of April 5th were passed unanimously. A quorum was
present.
No old business to discuss.
New Business
Chairman Jaskiewicz proposed that we review the Ordinance No. 02-
56 Section. 2-1104 sections, a,b,c & e.
Individual Reports
Mike Shaw introduced their new Emergency Management employee,
Ms. Melanie Collins to our group who will be the coordinator of the
Emergency Shelters.
Various schools are continually identified as shelters. The Hurricane
Season begins on June 1" with whether we are going to have an active
or inactive season. ICS 300 training will take place later in May and ICS
400 in September. Special needs registration went out on May 17th.
Jerry Sanford reported that the next Honor Flight is Saturday, May 21St
with Chairman Jaskiewicz being a Guardian on the flight. A new Cert
class began on May 16th with 18 new students. The progress on the
Freedom Memorial is moving along with the tentative date of
September 9th for the opening.
Barry Gerenstein reports that he has helped the Fiddlers Creek Cert
team with Mr. Bob Slater as their leader to help revive the team. He
plans on meeting with the Greater Naples Fire Chief to discuss the
future of their team.
Dr. Neiween reports that there are two training opportunities coming
up this year. TB Fundamentals and Response Planning, August 5, 2016,
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuberculosis Outbreak, September 9, 2016,
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must register to attend. Both sessions to be at
EOC Training Rooms. The Senate has just approved $1.1 Billion for
Vica research. There has been 116 cases reported in Florida and 1 case
in collier county which was travel related.
Jose Carrillo reports that the closer we get to the national elections,
the more high profile visits to be expected in Naples.
Al Goodall reports that he just returned from a Hurricane Conference
where a video was shown about reverse traffic patterns involving the
Florida Tpke and Routes 75 & 95. Germain Arena to be a possible
shelter.

Lee Henderson reports that he is going to Ormond Beach with the CAP
and will be working with the Air Force on a training exercise. The CAP
has reached out to Collier County to take aerial photos prior to and
after a Hurricane. The county has not responded to their request.
Walt Jaskiewicz reports that the Coast Guard will be taking part in a
15 person mass rescue team in the Port of Miami.
The next meeting is scheduled for July 20th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
