EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and accept the conveyance of a utility easement through County
property to the Collier County Water-Sewer District on behalf of the Public Utilities Department.
OBJECTIVE: To update and improve the potable water distribution system along the Airport Pulling
Road corridor. The public purpose is to bring infrastructure into compliance with current County
standards while meeting demand, improving reliability and protecting public safety.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Collier County Public Utilities Department is replacing and rehabbing
potable water lines as a part of the Airport Road Water Main Abandonment Project. This includes
installing an additional water main interconnection from the Airport Pulling Road water main to the
Curling Avenue water main. The Water Division proposes to accomplish this by routing the new water
line through a 50' strip of land owned by Collier County used for the Four Seasons outfall canal (location
map, GIS utility map and layout of proposed waterline are attached). The parties responsible for
maintenance of the property and canal, Gerry Kurtz in Capital Project Planning and Travis Gossard in
Road Maintenance, have both reviewed the project and have no objections.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for recording the Utility Easement will not exceed $27.00. Funds in
the amount of$27.00 are available in the Water Capital Improvement Fund 412 under Project No. 71010.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with
this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority
vote for approval.---JAB
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the attached Utility
Easement; authorizes the Chairman to sign the attached Utility Easement; accepts the attached Utility
Easement in its capacity as the Ex-Officio Governing Board of the Collier County Water-Sewer District;
and directs the County Manager, or his designee, to record the Utility Easement in the Public Records of
Collier County,Florida.
