EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Resolution
officially naming the County-owned airport northeast of Marco Island the Marco Island Executive
Airport.
OBJECTIVE: To allow the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to officially update the
name of the County-owned airport northeast of Marco Island from the Marco Island Airport to
the Marco Island Executive Airport.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Marco Island Airport (formerly known as the Marco Shores
Airport) was constructed by a private developer the mid 1970's. The airport eventually became
the property of Collier County. With the adoption of Ordinance 95-67, the then current "Collier
County Airport Authority Ordinance,"it became known as the Marco Island Executive Airport.
Although having been known as the "Executive" airport since 1995,the name change was never
formally submitted to the FAA.
The attached Resolution, stating that the Board of County Commissioners, in its capacity as the
Collier County Airport Authority, desires to accept the"Marco Island Executive Airport" as the
airport's official name will allow the FAA to update official records in the National Airspace
System.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no Fiscal Impact associated with this Executive Summary.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a
majority vote. -JAB
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no Growth Management Impact associated
with this Executive Summary.
RECOMMENDATION: To authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Resolution to
allow the FAA to officially update the name of the Marco Island Executive Airport.

RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE COLLIER
COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY, OFFICIALLY NAMING THE COUNTY-
OWNED AIRPORT NORTHEAST OF MARCO ISLAND AS THE MARCO
ISLAND EXECUTIVE AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the Marco Island Airport (formerly known as the Marco Shores Airport) was
constructed by a private developer the mid 1970's; and
WHEREAS, the airport eventually became the property of Collier County and with the
adoption of Ordinance 95-67, the then current "Collier County Airport Authority Ordinance,"
became known as the Marco Island Executive Airport; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the official name of the Marco
Island Airport(formerly known as the Marco Shores Airport) is the Marco Island Executive Airport.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the
FAA in order to update the official records in the National Airspace System.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County,Florida,this day of , 2016.
