EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO)
Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) Planning Grant for FY 16/17 in the amount of$26,077 and
authorize the necessary budget amendment.
OBJECTIVE: To recognize funding awarded to the Collier County Metropolitan Planning
Organization (MPO) by the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged(CTD).
CONSIDERATIONS: Annually, the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) enters into
an Agreement with the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) to perform planning
duties set forth in Chapter 427, Florida Statutes, Rule 41-2, Florida Administrative Code, Commission
Policies and the Program Manual for Transportation Disadvantaged Planning Related Services
(Agreement) as revised on April 27, 2012. The CTD notified the MPO that it is authorizing $26,077
for specific planning tasks in the MPO's FY16/17 fiscal year (July-June). The MPO Board is
expected to approve the Agreement at their June 10, 2016 meeting. CTD Grant funding begins July
1, 2016.
The MPO is an independent organization that manages its own funds. The Board of County
Commissioners (BCC) acts as the custodian of the MPO's account, with the Clerk of Courts assisting
with the administration of the account.
FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize grant revenue in the amount of
$26,077 in Growth Management Department (GMD) Grant Fund 711, Project 33468. There is no
requirement for matching funds.
LEGALON ID RATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is
approved as to form and legality, and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This request is consistent with Collier County's
Growth Management Plan.
RECOMMENDATION: To recognize the FY 16/17 TD Grant funding in the amount of$26,077
and authorize the necessary budget amendment.
