EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to recognize Allison Kearns, Manager Financial and Operations Support, Growth Management Department as the Supervisor of the Year 2015. OBJECTIVE: To recognize the efforts and accomplishments of a supervisor who has made significant contributions to the organization or to our community. CONSIDERATIONS: Allison Kearns has been selected as the "Supervisor of the Year" for 2015. Allison was selected by committee from a pool of 7 very qualified nominees. All employees who supervise two or more employees and receive an overall annual performance evaluation rating of highly successful or higher are eligible to be nominated for this annual award. This year Allison has offered to take on several additional projects including leading an accounting task force for countywide implementation, serving on various internal control teams directed by the County Manager's Office, working with the Internal Review Manager on implementing countywide accounting SOP's, and the artificial reef program. Allison is a member of the SAP FITS team and has taken part in many strategic countywide discussions related to new technological solutions for many challenging areas in the county. Even with these additional responsibilities, she is willing to jump in and assist anyone who needs a hand.Allison has gone above and beyond as a team leader; she always has a smile on her face and is always willing to listen. She guides her staff with the skills and tools to help them get the job done. Her personality and leadership skills encourage and motivate others to do more with less for a successful outcome, and she is always looking for ways to improve processes and encourage her employees. Allison is a true leader and very deserving of being named Supervisor of the Year. FISCAL IMPACT: The selected"Supervisor of the Year"receives a $250.00 cash award. Funds for this are available in the Human Resources Budget for this program. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There are no Growth Management Impacts associated with this Executive Summary. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the recognition of Allison Kearns as Supervisor of the Year for 2015.
