Special Meeting
April 5, 2016
Voting Members Present: Al Goodall, American Red Cross.
Walter Jaskiewicz, Coast Guard Aux.
Jerry Sanford, Fire Chief's Association.
Barry Gerenstein, C.E.R.T.
Joseph Neiween, Medical Reserve Corp.
Reg Buxton, Chamber of Commerce,via phone.
Expert Consultant Present: Mike Shaw, CCEM.
Kristi Nadler, CCEM.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jaskiewicz at 10:00 a.m.
Kristi Nadler led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call conducted. A quorum was not present. The previous minutes of
January 20th 2016 meeting could not be voted upon.
Reg Buxton called in and a quorum was present.
New Business
Chairman Jaskiewicz said that this special meeting was called to vote on the
Collier County Citizen Corps Ordinance Revision.
Jerry Sanford made a motion to approve the Citizen Corp Ordinance Revision.
Dr. Neiween seconded the motion. All present voted in favor for approval.
Individual Reports
Al Goodall reported that 11 Red Cross personnel had been deployed to
Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana due to the recent storms that hit those states.
Barry Gerenstein reports that the Fiddlers Creek Community has 2 people
interested in joining the Cert program. Marco Island Fire will appoint a new
Cert leader.
Mike Shaw reported that the Pediatric tabletop exercise of March 21st was a big
success.The after action report will be forth coming.
Chairman Jaskiewicz suggested that the Consultants listed in the ordinance be
invited to attend our meetings. The next meeting we should look at the revised
ordinance to see if we are providing what the ordinance reads. The Coast Guard
in conjunction with the FBI will be conducting a terrorism scenario in Miami
from June 14th to June 16th
The next meeting is scheduled for May 18th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:16 a.m.
