PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD COMMITTEE

I. Meeting commenced at 8 : 47
II. Minutes of December 12 and 21 approved. Motion by Gil Mueller,
seconded by Kim Kobza.
III. Old Business
A. Bluebill Boat Ramp - The bidding for the approximately 5 acre
site will be January 25, 1990 at Building F in the Government
Complex. The county will know within 24 hours if the bid was
successful. The county, if bid not highest, will talk to the
high bidder to see if they wish to sell.
B. Tigertail Beach - County staff, including Environmental
Services and Mike Joity, DNR Beaches and Shores, walked beach
area that could be maintained as sandy beach. County and Stae
permitting required prior to commencing any work. Mr. Mueller
did some research and passed out a drawing with approximate
footage of Tigertail.
Tentative timetable: Staff completes State permit application
within 30 to 40 days - end of February. Board of County
Commissioners authorization is also required. State review
within 3 to 4 months - May or June. County then responds to
State - about 1 month. Possible bid of contract in 2 months,
and work should commence in September.
C. Domesticated Animals in Park Resolution - Resolution would give
Director authority to administratively authorize animals in
park facilities for special events.
D. Beach Parking Permit - Pending review by County Attorney's
office.
E. North Naples Community Park Tennis Courts - Dedicated and in
use.
F. North Naples Community Park Ballfield and Parking Lot - Staked
out. Some tree removal necessary. Parking lot to begin within
two weeks.

G. Golden Gate Community Park Ballfield - Parks and Recreation now
maintaining ballfield. It will be ready for play March 1.
H. Golden Gate Community Park Flagpole - Acquired through
Commissioner Hasse and donated by Golden Gate Business
Association. Dedication planned for 1/27/90, 11: 00 a.m.
IV. PARAB Guidelines
A. Section I, Article I to read "shall consist of one (1) member
appointed from each voting district in increments of two and
three each by the Board of County Commissioners to serve for
four years commencing on appropriate odd numbered years. "
B. Article III - Duties. Insert a new "G" - Annually review the
proposed tentative budget of the department. Current "G"
becomes "H" and "H" becomes "I" .
C. Article V - Meetings. It was suggested that PARAB meet at
different sites each month instead of permanently at Golden
Gate Community Park Administration Building. This suggestion
was met with much enthusiasm. Hopefully, February meeting will
be the first in the series.

Motion to accept changes made by Mr. Mueller and seconded by Mr.
Kobza.
V. Advisory Board Applications
Mr. Mueller makes motion to readvertise for applications from
District's 3 and 4 . Seconded by Mr. Kobza.
Mr. Mueller makes motion to renew Mr. Kobza's contract with PARAB.
Mr. Stevens seconds.
