A RESOLUTION SUPERCEDING RESOLUTION NO. 2015-78, WHICH
REVISED THE COLLIER AREA TRANSIT (CAT) BUS FARES AND
TRANSIT FEE POLICY, AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A
CORPORATE DISCOUNT FARE STRUCTURE IN ORDER TO
ENCOURAGE USE OF THE TRANSIT SYSTEM BY LARGE
EMPLOYERS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority to approve the
Collier Area Transit(CAT)bus fares and transit fee policy; and
WHEREAS, on October 23, 2012, after due consideration on its agenda and majority
vote, the Board adopted Resolution 2012-192 establishing the CAT bus fares and transit fee
policy; and
WHEREAS, on February 12, 2013, after due consideration on its agenda and majority
vote, the Board adopted Resolution 2013-28 establishing an additional policy providing for an
elderly/disabled reduced fare for the subcontracted Transportation provider with the Florida
Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged that provides transportation services under the
non-emergency transportation Medicaid Contract for Collier County; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2015, after due consideration on its agenda and majority vote,
the Board adopted Resolution 2015-78, which extended affordable transportation alternatives to
our area youth to encourage participation in education, recreational and employment
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that the introduction of discount programs generate an
estimated twenty-five (25)percentage increase in new ridership on transit systems; and
WHEREAS, Collier County would like to implement a corporate discount program for
public and private employers with an employment base of 300 or more working in Collier
County in order to provide a reduced stress transportation option, as well as lowering monthly
costs to travel to work; and
WHEREAS, based on Collier County's Transit Development Plan, there are over thirty-
five (35) businesses and organizations with an employment base ranging from 300 to 5,000
employees; and
WHEREAS, it is further determined to be beneficial to extend this program benefit to
employees of the Constitutional officers and the Board of County Commissioners' employees.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY THAT:
1. Collier Area Transit (CAT) is hereby authorized to set bus fares in accordance with the
below schedule:

Corporate Pass (Over 500+Employees) $29.75/mo.
1 Reduced Fares are for members of Medicare, Disabled Community,
those 65 years and older and children 17 and under. ID required. This
fare would also apply to the subcontracted transportation provider with
the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged that
provides transportation services under the non-emergency
transportation Medicaid Contract for Collier County.

2. The CAT Fee Policy is hereby established as follows:
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to establish user fees that will partially offset the cost of
providing services to the taxpayers of Collier County.
IL LIMITATIONS
No Waiving of Fees. The Board of County Commissioners shall set all fees and
charges. No fees may be waived, except as stated herein.

Smart Card Replacement with registration $1.00
If you do not have an existing Collier Area Transit smart card, it will be
necessary to purchase one with your initial fare. Please see Smart Media
Fee for information.
3. This Resolution adopted and effective on this 9th day of February, 2016 after motion, second
and majority vote in favor of passage.
