CLAM PASS
Mr. Rice and Jay Harmic, Environmental Consultant for
the County, made a field trip to the portion of Clam Pass which
Deltona would like to dedicate to the County. It is the recommendation
from Dr. Harmic not to accept this parcel unless it already falls into
Deltona' s permitted fill area. Dudley Goodlette made the motion to
accept the recommendation of Jay Harmic and not to accept the parcel .
Motion was seconded by Chairman Blunt and approved unanimously.
DECISION OF DOUG McGOON' S DONATION OF LAND IN COPELAND
This item was deferred from the meeting of July 13 , 1979
until more members were available for the vote. After a brief
discussion it was the general consensus of the PARAB not to accept
P
the generous donation of Mr. Mc.Goon because of the following
reasons : 1 . The land is under water for approximately 3 months .
2 . There is not an access to the property at this time .
OLD BUSINESS
A brief discussion was held on the referendum committee.

was working on a letter to be sent to the BCC explaining what the
the PARAB is planning to do and asking for their support. Chairman
Blunt instructed the secretary to send a copy of the draft letter
to the members prior to sending the letter to the BCC . He would
like to get the approval of the PARAB and their input .
NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Blunt questioned Mr. Rice about the article in
the paper concerning acreage at Marco for an additional ballfield.
Chairman Blunt also questioned the possibilities of utilizing this
agreage for not only baseball/softball but also soccer and football.
The secretary was instructed to write a memo to the BCC questioning
the possibility of this matter.
Another subject discussed under new business was the
matter of the County accepting parcels of land for parks without
the approval of the PARAB first. It was the general consensus of the
PARAB that a letter be written to the BCC asking if any parcels
that are to be donated to the BCC for parks use, that the PARAB review
the proposal and see if it complies with the Comprehensive PLan.
If the proposal does not comply with the Plan, we will recommend not
to accept the parcel. The Secretary was also instructed to draft
a letter to the BCC stating their ideas on this matter and send
a draft to the members for their input and approval .
There being no further business , the meeting adjourned at
9 :40 A.M.
Respectfully submitted,
