PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
September 19, 1973
The regular meeting of the Collier County Parks and
Recreation Board was called to order by the Chairman, Tim
Fisher, at 7:15 P.M. on Wednesday, September 19, 1973 in Room
D, Collier County Complex.
The secretary read the minutes of the July 15th meeting
which were approved as read.
John Lloyd moved and the motion was seconded by Elton
Townsend to send a copy of the minutes of all future meetings
to the County Commissioners and County Manager. The vote was
unanimous in favor of the motion.
A motion was made by Paul Bogatko and seconded by
John Lloyd that we request the County Commissioners to reconsider
the 1973/74 Budget and provide authorization for the hiring of
an Assistant Parks and Recreation Director at a salary of not less
than $9,000. Motion carried unanimously.
A discussion preceded the motion concerning the 1973/74
budget of the Parks and Recreation Dept. with particular attention
to the cut of the entire Capital Improvement allocation. A review
of the 1972/73 sutuation was also held.
The forms of leases and resolutions by and between
school boards concerning joint use of recreational facilities as
sent to us by County Attorney, David Bruner, were discussed.

The following motion was made by Elton Townsend and seconded by
John Lloyd. We recommend to the County Commissioners that they
direct the County Attorney to immediately set forth a lease
agreement with the school board, whereby use of school board
facilities and capital improvements thereon will be protected.
The motion was passed unanimously.
The consensus of the Board was that the Fort Myers,
Lee County agreements would be a good rule guide.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
