03/21/1973 PARAB Minutes MINUTES OF
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE
March 21, 1973
The Collier County Parks and Recreation Board meeting
was called to order by the Chairman, Tim Fisher, at 7:00 P.M.
in the Commissioner's room at the Collier County Courthouse.
Steve Smith reported that he had called Randolph
Hodges, Director of State Natural Resources, about Delnor Park.
The Federal Government has a $420,000 grant available that has to
be used this year. The bulkhead line problem has held up develop-
ment. They have decided to make it a primitive park with little
development and filling, similar to Collier Seminole Park, there
will be a road and parking and paths to the beach.
Mrs. Hixon and Mr. Robert Haley presented a summary of
the activities of "A PLace to Go" committee to date. She also
showed us architectural drawings of what the young people of this
community would like to have as designed by Mr. Reeves, architect.
After a lengthy discussion with Mrs. Hizon, she requested our
recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Board for the project
"A Place to Go" to be placed in Collier County and under th=super-
vision of the Collier County Commission. A motion was made by
John Lloyd and seconded by Paul Bogatko to recommend to the
County Commissioners that this plan be considered for acceptance;
that the lands and building of a "A Place to Go" as presented by
Mrs. Hixon be accepted by the County with the understanding that
