04/24/1972 PARAB Minutes MINUTES OF PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE April 24, 1972 On April 24, 1972 the Parks and Recreation Committee met at the Collier County Courthouse. The Chairman, Tim Fisher, called the meeting to order at 1:30 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The School Board Resolution of Inter-governement Co- operation was discussed. Tim Fisher read a resolution recommending to the County Commissioners that a formal agreement be entered into with the school board and the physical work proceed. Mr. Dan Breeden, Director of Parks and Recreation for the County reported that the following parks have been finished. They are Oil Well Park, Bayview Park and Immokalee Park. Mr. Breeden showed us a map of the County Stockade where the following changes and improvements will be made. 1) Upgrade present baseball field 2) Build a multiple purpose half court 3) Build two shuffle board coutts 4) Build two horeshoe courts 5) Outfit a recreation room Mr. Breeden would like a recommendation that we contribute the lights that were given to us by Flora Land Corporation Minutes of Parks and Recreation Committee April 24, 1972 Page -2- That the lights be placed at the Everglades sight and that we take the lights formally at Everglades to Immokalee Little League Complex. It was noted that the field in Immokalee is used for adult and other recreational need also. Mr. Breeden wants us to give him the guide lines and recommendations, also possible acquisitions for the future. He suggested that we all have a council within our own district for future recommendation, made up of people who live there. The next meeting willbe May 15, 1972 at 1:00 P.M. at the Collier County Courthouse. The meeting was adjourned at 2:40 P.M.
