03/07/1972 PARAB Minutes MINUTES OF PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE March 7, 1972 On March 7th the Parks and Recreation Committee met at the Collier County Courthouse in the Agriculture Conference Room at 10:00 A.M. The meeting was called to order by Tim Fisher, Chairman. Dan Breeden, Director of Parks and Recreation for Collier County reported that on March 23, 1972 the Oil Well Park will be dedicated. Dan Breeden reported that at the last Commissioner's meeting the name of Don Jones was approved for appointment to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Mr. Breeden was authorized by the Commissioners to work out an agreement with the school board for use of the school facilities for recreation programs. On March 1, 1972 a special permit was applied for, for Marco Beach Park, by Tom Peek to build a road to island park The Sign Design for the Collier County Parks was approved by the Commissioners, Mr. Breeden also reported that Poinciana Village Park will increase in size by the donation of Lot #33, Unit 1 next to the present site, and showed the committee the layout he had prepared for the park.
