RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A WEIGHT LIMIT FOR TRUCK TRAFFIC
ON THAT PORTION OF ORANGE BLOSSOM DRIVE WHICH IS ACCESSIBLE
FROM PINE RIDGE ROAD EXTENSION. •
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority in
accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, to lower the weight, load,
and/or speed limits on any county—maintained road; and
WHEREAS, that portion of Orange Blossom Drive which is accessible from
Pine Ridge Road Extension is a county—maintained road; and
WHEREAS, at present the weight limit on Orange Blossom Drive is in

accordance with maximum weights set forth in said Chapter 316; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, an
engineering investigation has been made for that portion of Orange Blossom
Drive which is accessible from Pine Ridge Extension; and
WHEREAS, this investigation has determined that the weight of heavy
truck loadings on the roadway under study should be limited to prevent

immediate roadway destruction and provide for public safety; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida
has determined that in order to minimize road damage and to protect the
safety of the citizens of Collier County, it will be to •the best interest
and benefit of the citizens to limit the weight of trucks and motor vehicles
to those weighing lass than 10,000 pounds unless such vehicles are involved
' in construction of, or transporting materials for, residential structures or
• recreational or esthetic amenities to or from any individual property site,
•
combination of adjacent sites, or project site along or near the aforesaid
portion of Orange Blossom Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The Board of County Commissioners does hereby approve this
• Resolution to change and reduce the weight limit on that portion of Orange
Blosaam Prive which In accaeeiT a from Fine Ridge Extension to trucks' and
motor vehicles weighing less than 10,000 pounds unless such vehicles are
involved in construction of, or transporting materials for, residential •
structures or recreational or esthetic amenities to or from any individual
property site, combination of adjacent sites, or project site along or near
the aforesaid portion of Orange Blossom Drive which is accessible from Pine
Ridge Extension and does hereby direct the County Transportation Department
to erect weight limit signs according to law.

2. The County Engineer, per Chapter 336, Florida Statutes, has
authority to issue a "stop work" order on any activities in violation of
the weight limitations of this resolution and to require restoration of all r. .
right-of-way disturbed by any activities in veiolatioa of the weight limits.

3. The aforementioned restrictions exclude all of the County's efforts ! °
to construct, reconstruct or maintain County roadways.
4. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the the Collier County
Sheriff's Department for proper enforcement of the weight restriction.
