THE YOUTH FOUNDATION OF AMERICA WAS FOUNDED IN 1983 . IT IS RECOGNIZED
BY THE IRS AS A 501 C-3 NON-PROFIT CORPORATION . OUR BY-LAWS STATE THAT
THE YOUTH FOUNDATION OF AMERICA (Y .F.A . ) WAS ESTABLISHED "EXCLUSIVELY
FOR RECREATIONAL , CHARITABLE , AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES .
THE ROLE OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO SUPPLEMENT , COMPLIMENT AND REINFORCE
THE MESSAGE OF OTHER AGENCIES WORK I NJG WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSES IN THE
REGION ,AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTE ITS UNIQUE COMBINATION OF RESOURCES TO
CONTROL DRUG ABUSE AND DEPENDENCY .
OPERATIONS OF THE Y .F .A . FALL INTO TWO CATEGORIES : 1 ) OPERATING A
MUSIC/ELECTRONIC GAMES THEATRE CALLED "THE MUSIC AMERICA THEATER" ; 2)
OPERATE WSR;: RADIO , 89 .F .M . , WHICH IS CURRENTLY HOLDING DOWN A MARKET
SHARE OF ABOUT' 70% OF THE TEEN MARKET IN FORT MYERS-NAPLES FLA .
AUDIENCE EQUALS ABOUT 00 ,0t)0 LISTENERS WEEKLY .
THE MUSIC THEATER , ALONG WITH ITS 4 ,000 SO FEET ELECTRONIC ARCADE ARE
SCHEDULE TO OPEN 09 APRIL 93 . THIS IS A PLACE WHERE YOUNG PEOPLE CAN
INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER AS WELL AS EXPAND THEIR MINDS UTILIZING
SOPHISTICATED COMPUTER/ELECTRONIC GAMES . THE CENTER WILL BE SUPERVISED
ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS BY A SECURITY GUARD AND Y .F .A . STAFF .
IN BRIEF , WE WILL PROVIDE A SAFE HAVEN FOR THE YOUNGEST MEMBER TO THE
YOUNG ADULT . THE CENTER WILL ALLOW THE YOUTH TO BE ENTERTAINED IN MANY
FORM- OF RECREATIONAL EXPERIENCES ON A YEAR ROUND BASIS . THE YOUNG
PEOPLE WILL BECOME VIABLE VOTING MEMBERS OF THE YOUTH FOUNDATION CLUB .
IT IS HOPED THAT THE MEMBERS WILL FEEL A SENSE OF OWNERSHIP IN
ASSISTING WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MONTHLY PLANNING ACTIVITY
CALENDAR , AS WELL AS ASSISTING IN MANY OTHER DECISION MATING SKILLS
THAT WILL BE OFFERED .

PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTY HAVE OBLIGATIONS AND RE'SP'ONDS I B I L I TES TO SCHOOL ,

SAFE AND FREE FROM THE SOCIAL ILLS THAT PLAGUE OUR SOCIETY .

the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board by the Board of County
Commissioners at their May 18, 1993 , meeting. This appointment
will expire on December 31, 1994 .

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PARAB) meets on the
fourth Wednesday of the month, 2 : 00 pm, at the Golden Gate
Administration Building, 3300 Santa Barbara Boulevard. The next
meeting will be Wednesday, May 26th and we look forward to seeing
