CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:08 PM by Chairman Spencer.
Attendance was called and a quorum was established.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES—MAY 19,2015
Vice Chair Harris moved to approve the Minutes for May 19, 2015, as presented. Second
by Jennifer Williams. Carried; 3-0.
V. County Maintained Landscape- Liz Soriano
Liz Soriano who works for Pam Lulich in Growth Management Division made a short
presentation on the construction in and around Golden Gate City and requested that LA
Mike McGee help design portions of the medians. All of this is not part of the MSTU
responsibility.
Peggy Harris moved to approve the expenditure of up to $800 to McGee and Associates
for the partial redesign of the medians. Second by Jennifer Williams. Passed 3-0.
VI. PROJECT MANAGER'S REPORT—HARRY SELLS
A. Harry introduced Leslie Hayes as Darryl Richard's replacement and the newly
assigned Project Manager for Golden Gate MSTU.
B. Monthly Budget Report
Staff distributed and reviewed the Golden Gate Beautification MSTU Budget dated
July 21, 2015. (See attached). The assessed valuation for Golden Gate MSTU went
up for FY 16 to $$575 Million to $610 Million meaning that there would be a
possible increase in revenue from $246 Thousand to $270 Thousand for FY 16
C. Approximately $11,000 was committed to replace two street lights on Sunshine,
most of which would be refunded through insurance claims.
Flagpole replacement quotes came in very high, approximately$32,000 to install a
$1,500 Flagpole. Mr. Sells suggested that if the new requested quotes didn't come in
considerably lower in the $7000 to $8000 range, that the MSTU not replace the
flagpole on Golden Gate Blvd.
D. Light Repair Tropicana
Four of six street lights are not working on the south end of Tropicana and requested
authorization to fix them for up to $1,500.
Peggy Harris moved to authorize up to $1,500 to fix the Tropicana lights. Second by
Pat Spencer. Passed 3-0.
VI. TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE REPORTS—Hannula Landscaping
A. Maintenance Reports
Janet Acevedo reported that some areas are showing issues with lack of water. There
seems to be several locations that don't get enough water and she doesn't seem to be
getting support from Growth Management. Harry Sells stated that the organization

was going through an upgrade of the irrigation centralized control system and were
have many issues with it.
Hannula will mulch the rest of Hunter this month minus medians three and six
because of ongoing flooding issues at those medians.
VII. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT'S REPORT-McGee & Associates
A. Maintenance Reports
Reports were provided and distributed by McGee & Associates Landscape
Architecture on Coronado Parkway and Hunter Boulevard, Sunshine
Boulevard and Collier Boulevard—Part A & B and Green Boulevard—Median#1 for
period 14-15 May 2015.
Mike McGee distributed and reviewed the Golden Gate MSTU Annual Irrigation
Supplemental Water Use for All Roadways dated July,2015 and a Combined Annual
Water Use Report for 2014/2015. (See attached)
Mike McGee recommended that the sod on Tropicana be aerated to improve quality
of the sod. Hannula will get a quote to aerate one median.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS
Pat Spencer recommended that the Advisory Board send a letter of appreciation to Darryl
Richard for his service. Harry Sells said that he would arrange it.
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. NEW PROJECTS
The committee wants to revisit past projects concerning doing something about the
SE corner of Golden Gate Parkway and Santa Barbara and around the green
pedestrian bridge on Golden Gate Parkway. Mike McGee will bring the plans of the
old proposals to the next meeting.
X. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Pat Spencer introduced Ron Jefferson and Skip Haeger both of which have expressed
interest in applying for the open positions on the Advisory Board. Each in turn gave their
background and talked about what they would like to see in Golden Gate.
XI. ADJOURNMENT
Peggy Harris requested that the next meeting start later because she has difficulty getting
there on time. Pat Spencer moved that the meetings start at 4:30 beginning in August.
Seconded by Peggy Harris. Motion carried 3-0.
Meeting adjourned by order of the Chairman at 5:41 PM.
