LET IT BE REMEMBERED that the Clam Bay Committee of the Pelican Bay Services
Division Board met Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Community Center at
Pelican Bay located at 8960 Hammock Oak Drive, Naples, Florida. The following members were

APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 3 MINUTES
Mr. Cravens motioned, Mr. Levy seconded to approve the October 3 minutes as
resented. The Committee voted unanimous) in avor and the motion passed.
LATEST DRAFT OF CHAPTER 4
Mr. Hall reviewed the latest draft of Chapter 4: appendices, monitoring studies, types of
surveys, frequency of surveys, and optional surveys.
The Committee and audience discussed at length.
Mr. Hall would address comments and suggestions in the next draft document.
LATEST DRAFT ON PASSIVE RECREATION
Committee and audience reviewed/commented on the latest draft on passive recreation.
FUNDING FOR CLAM BAY - RELATED WORK
Mr. Dorrill reported that County would provide $27,000 to complete the one -year
monitoring event survey and an additional $40,000 for construction drawings and additional
resources for the 10 -year permit application.
PROPOSAL TO REPLACE CULVERTS WITH BRIDGE
Mr. Cravens motioned, Mr. Domenie seconded to recommend to the full Board that
we ask our engineers to develop a short position paper on the outcome to the Clam
Bay system if the culverts were replaced with a bridge. The Committee voted
unanimous) in avor and the motion Lassed.
RAKING SOUTH BEACH NEAR CLAM PASS
Chairman O'Brien was concerned about beach raking. In the future, the Committee
would be notified of requests from the Foundation for raking the beach to ensure compliance
with all permit requirements.
CANOE TRAIL MARKERS
Mr. Hall explained that four canoe trail markers posts that were installed on 32 canoe trail
markers are damaged and need to be replaced at a cost of $800 - $1200 each. Mr. Hall
recommended sending pilings to a lab for analysis and will prepare a proposal.
