Ms. 0-Brien was concerned about compiling water duality data from other sourees liar analysis at
the-complete picture..
1 h Committee directed staff to obtain a cost estimate form Cardno%I.N I`RIX. a County
contracted vendor to analyze water quality data on a quarterly basis of,12 lakes and provide a list of
alternative County-clieihle contractors.
Chairman Trecker would contact Jennifer Ilecker. C'onscrvancv of Southwest Florida to obtain a
recommendation on the criteria to test water quality.
By September. the Committee should he in the position to make a recommendation to the hoard
for sampling analysis and reporting.
STATUS OF LAKES PILOT PROGRAM
Mr. Lukasz reported that littoral plantings and aeration installation is complete. I'he identified
lakes are undergoing bacteria treatment. The floating islands installation should he complete by mid-Jule.
WATER QUALITY BROCI it`RE CHANGES
Chairman Trecker and I)r. Chicurel reviewed their water quality brochure revisions intended to
be less offensive without losing impact' . 'I he C'ommittee agreed to present the brochure to the full Board
on July 10 for approval for preparation to distribute vv ith the August assessment notice.
STATUS OF ENDOTHOL TESTING IN BASINS 5 AND 6
Mr. Lukasz reported Ludotlrol has replaced copper sulfate t<r treat algae in Basins 3. 5, and 6.
The Committee directed staff to acquire a sonic device to test etticacv for treating algae in the
Glenview Lake.
STATUS OF SEDIMENT SAMTPLIN(:
Mr. Lukasz reported that sediment sampling in two lakes in each basin should he complete by the
end of the week.
COPPER IN LAKES
I'he Committee discussed copper source,. solubility. and sediment measurements reported by
other nearby communities.

Chairman Trecker appointed [)r. C'hicurel as Interim ('hairman oldie Landscape Water

Mr. John Domenic commented on littoral plantings. floating islands. and measuring water quality.
Mr. Jack Thompson was concerned about nutrient levels in recycled water.
