REPORTS:
Budget
Alan McLaughlin -We are still on track with the budget in fact we are a little under budget right
now but the holiday season is coming up payroll will increase. We are doing well with our
operating expenses. We are under budget with several items on the station 63 budget. The
vehicles for the 1-75 station are ahead of schedule the Chief is going to do a midpoint inspection
on the heavy rescue and the water tender chassis. We expect a delivery hopefully before
Christmas of the Quick Attack Squad Vehicle.
Line of Duty Deaths
Alan McLaughlin —The US Firefighter line of duty deaths for this year so far is 82 and 8 for the
month of November 2014.
Awards and Recognitions Certifications
Alan McLaughlin — Linda Swisher will be recognized tomorrow at the regular Collier County
Board of Commissioner's meeting as employee of the month for November 2014. He asked if
some of the Committee members could attend as support. We have never had any one in the
fire service since 2002 nominated as employee of the month.
Tony Davis—He wanted to know what vehicles were being used at the 1-75 Fire Station.
Chief McLaughlin — We are currently using a rental vehicle from Brindle Mountain and Attack
60. The lease on the Brindle Mountain truck is good till the end of February we may have to
extend that lease but we believe the vehicles should be in by then.
Operations Report
Alan McLaughlin—There have been 43 incidents for the month of November. Two were mutual
aid calls to Marco Islands from Station 61 and there were no boat rescue calls. There have been
two fire inspections by East Naples Fire District and no fire investigations.

OLD BUSINESS
I-75 Station
Alan McLaughlin —We are still working out the kinks and bugs at the station. We have a fuel
contract for the tank at the 1-75 station. They are still having problems with people stopping at
the station thinking it is a public restroom. He has requested that FDOT increase the signage
regarding the location of the public restrooms at the rest area.
Locution System
Alan McLaughlin -We are up and ready to go regarding the locution system which was installed
by our own personnel. The Sheriff's Department and CII will finish up the system. The original
bids for installing the system was$15,000 for Station 61, $17,000 for Station 60 and $18,000 for
Station 63. Chief Morris and I purchased all the parts for $1100.00 to accommodate all the
stations.Stations 61 and 63 the wires were built into the stations during construction Station 60
had to be wired and the rest of the components were amplifiers we saved $28,000 by
researching what was needed to install the locution system and doing it ourselves. We will be
splitting the cost of the system with EMS at Station 60 because there is a medic unit there.
Call Back Staffing
Alan McLaughlin —Call Back Staffing is our online payroll and staffing system that we are going
to it is web based the personnel can access it anytime anywhere it is similar to what EMS is
currently using but it is a lot cheaper. The Tele Staff system EMS uses is$30,000. The Call Back
Staffing is approximately$1500.
FEMA Grant for Smoke Removal Station 60&Stortz Hydrant Adapters
Alan McLaughlin—We have applied for the FEMA Grant for Smoke Removal at Station 60
We are not going after the Stortz Hydrant Adapters. The smoke removal system is for Station
60 because it is a back in station therefore fumes tend to accumulate at the back of the station.
Station 61 and 63 has a sensor so when the fumes accumulate a fan comes on automatically to
clear the air. Station 60 is an old station and does not have a system. We received the go
ahead from the County Manager to apply for the grant.

NEW BUSINESS
Len Price& Dan Summers' presentation BCC Meeting 12-9-14
Alan McLaughlin — The Len Price and Dan Summers presentation will be tomorrow.
Commissioner Henning has something on the agenda for EMS to form a committee. He had a
meeting with Mark Isackson six weeks ago he recommended to consolidate all the MSTUs
under one and set the millage rate at 3.5. The options that were presented to the Advisory
Committee at the November meeting will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners.
The bill went in Thursday for Fiddler's Creek so it will be coming out of Isle of Capri's budget
one way or the other so they will need to increase their millage rate either to 2.9 or 3 to
compensate for the loss. The Mayor will be at the meeting and he encourages the Advisory
Committee to attend as well.
