. BOOR 051 PACES SOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MILES
. PER HOUR ON VANDERBILT BEACH ROAD (C.R. 862) BETWEEN
. VANDERBILT DRIVE AND GULFSHORE DRIVE 4
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority in accordance t

with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, to alter or establish speed limits on any
County-maintained road; and, i
WHEREAS, Vanderbilt Beach Road (C.R. 862) is a County-maintained road; and,
WHEREAS, at present the speed limit on Vanderbilt Beach Road (C.R. 862)
between Vanderbilt Drive and Gulfshore Dri •^, is 45 miles per hour; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, an engineering
and traffic investigation has been made for the portion of Vanderbilt Beach
Drive (C.R. 862) between Vanderbilt Drive and Gulfshore Drive; and,
WHEREAS, this traffic investigation has determined that a speed zone with •
a maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour is reasonable and in conformity
with criteria promulgated by the Florida Department of Transportation; and,
• WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, has .
determined that in order to protect the safety of the citizens of Collier
1 County, it will be to the best interest and benefit to the citizens to limit
i the speed on the aforesaid portion of Vanderbilt Beach Road (C.R. 862) to 35
miles per hour.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does
hereby approve this Resolution to change and reduce the speed limit on that
portion of Vanderbilt Beach Road (C.R. 862) between Vanderbilt Drive and Gulfshore
Drive from the present maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour to a maximum
speed limit of 35 miles per hour and does hereby direct the County Road Depart-
ment to erect speed limit signs according to law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Sherfff
1{ Aubrey Rogers for proper enforcement of the 35 miles per hour speed limit restriction.
