PER HOUR ON ISLES OF CAPRI ROAD (C.R. 951) BETWEEN 1 ,000 !.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has the authority in accordance
with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, to alter or establish speed limits on any
County-maintained road; and,
WHEREAS, Isles of Capri Road (C.R. 951) is a County-maintained road; and,
WHEREAS, at present the speed limit on Isles of Capri Road (C.R. 951) 0
• between 25th Avenue, S.W. and 18th Avenue, S.W. is 55 miles per hour; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, an engineering
and traffic investigation has been made for the portion of Isles of Capri Road
(C.R. 951) between 25th Avenue, S.W. and 18th Avenue, S.W.; and,
WHEREAS, this traffic investigation has determined that a speed zone with
a maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour is reasonable and in conformity with
criteria promulgated by the Florida Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, has
determined that in order to protect the safety of the citizens of Collier County,
it will be to the best interest and benefit to the citizens to limit the speed
on the aforesaid portion of Isles of Capri Road (C.R. 951) to 45 miles per hour.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does
hereby approve this Resolution to change and reduce the speed limit on that
portion of Isles of Capri Road (C.R. 951) between 1 ,000 feet south of 25th Avenue,
S.W. and 1 ,000 feet north of 18th Avenue, S.W., from the present maximum speed
limit of 55 miles per hour to a maximum speed limit of 45 miles per hour and
does, hereby direct:the County Road Department to erect speed limit signs according
to law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Sheriff
1' Aubrey Rogers for proper enforcement of the 45 miles per hour speed limit restriction.

seconded by Commissioner Pistor and, upon roll call , the vote was:
