1. Call to order: Jeff called the meeting to order at 5:40.
2. Approval of current agenda: Jeff asked if there were any changes to the Agenda and there were none.
Jeff called for motion to approve the agenda,Karen made the motion, Pat seconded it, all were in favor.

5. Chief Nolan Sapp, Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District: Requesting funds for equipping

Chief Nolan said that due to space limitations, some of the

part of Golden Gate Estates with a quicker response time. Annette suggested a GAC Land Trust logo to
go on the trucks making note of the GAC Land Trust's funding participation. Jeff called for a motion,
Karen made the motion to recommend to the BCC funding in an amount not to exceed $150,000, and for
the trucks to include a decal making note of the GAC Land Trust Committee donating funds for the
equipment. Mark seconded the motion and Jeff called for the vote, all were in favor.
For the record, Chief Sculdt said that one new truck would cost approximately $225,000. Chief Sculdt
also said that in addition to fighting fires,the equipment is beneficial to the entire community during
hurricanes, too. He thanked the Committee for its support.
*11. Safety House: (item moved to allow Chief Nolan to address and leave): Karen thanked the two Chiefs
for repairing the Safety House. Karen said that the Safety House was located at the Fair and 213 adults
went through and 306 children went through. Karen said the vents still seem to be a problem. Chief
Nolan said those vents are an odd size and are on backorder.
Mark asked if it goes to the schools and Chief Nolan said it is and starts at second grade and up. Karen
said she'd like to see the Safety House go all over the County. Chief Nolan said the City of Naples has
its own, but the Safety House has gone to East Naples and Marco under a structured program for
educational purposes.
6. Update: Request from Chief Rita Greenberg, Big Corkscrew Island Fire Control & Rescue District for
equipment—Letter provided to Rita,but Agreement may have to be presented to the BCC.
7. Update: Parks and Recreation request for funding equipment for Louise Hasse Community Center: BCC
approved on March 25, 2014 and Parks and Recreation was notified.
8. Update: Donation of parcel to Collier County for Sheriff's Office use: Going to BCC March 25, 2014:
BCC approved March 25, 2014.
9. Request from member of the public to purchase Randall Curve property. Barry Williams directed the
inquirer to staff: Michael said that someone from the public called saying that he has a client who wants
to buy the 47 acres. Michael advised that the subject property is presently tied up and awaiting a decision
to be made by the Parks Department to retain or sell the property. Michael stated that Barry said a
decision would be made in July. The caller said that the County does not want the property.
Michael suggested that the Committee consider for him to inform the inquirer that once Parks decides
whether it will be utilizing the property or not, and advises the Committee of that decision, which may
result in the property reverting back to the Land Trust through Board action, and at that time, the
Committee would then have to be petitioned to release the property to the public. Jeff asked if a vote was
required and Michael and Jeff agreed that a vote should be taken. Jeff called for a motion and Mark
made a motion that if Parks decides to not use the property for a park, and the property reverts back to
the Land Trust, the property should be retained for future sale. Annette seconded the motion and all were
in favor.
