1. Landscape Update: Aaron from Ground Zero was present and communicated that
they have performed scheduled landscape maintenance and removed the dead palm
in front of the CRA office. He also mentioned that it will be cheaper for us to
purchase the royal palm rather than take the donated palm as the labor costs for the
uprooting of the existing donated palm would be more than the purchase of a new
palm.
2. Grant application to be submitted for Karen Drive. Staff gave a brief informational on
the status of the grant. GRANT FUNDING APPLICATION TO BE SUBMITTED FOR
KAREN DRIVE FLOODING: At the October 2, 2013 MSTU meeting, the Advisory

improvements if no funding is available.
a. Staff has opened a work order with Grady Minor ($25,282.00) to design the
improvements with MSTU funds.
b. Staff has prepared an application and will apply for grant funding ($154,120.00)

The grant application is requesting funding to pay for construction and CEI costs
in the amount of$154,120. The grant will pay for a CEI professional inspector to
monitor construction on a part-time basis. It will also pay for the construction of
the project. The grant will not pay for the engineering and permitting to be done
